WHO WE ARE

Massachusetts Oncology Patients, Survivors & Supporters (MOPSS) is a survivor-led nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by head and neck cancer. Our work centers on access to medically necessary oral and dental care—care that is often required before cancer treatment can begin, during treatment, and throughout survivorship.

We work to ensure oral and dental care is recognized as an essential part of whole-body cancer care, not a separate or optional service.

Through awareness, education, and policy advocacy, we partner with communities, healthcare professionals, and supporters to elevate survivor voices, promote early detection, and improve quality of life.

House Bill H.4553 – An Act requiring coverage of medically necessary oral and dental care for head and neck cancer survivors

MOPSS has worked with survivors, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to educate the Legislature about the oral and dental complications that can result from head and neck cancer treatment. H.4553 would address insurance coverage gaps that many survivors face when seeking medically necessary oral and dental care related to their cancer treatment and survivorship.
