🌟 Exciting News: Dental Bill H1094 for Cancer Survivors Advances in Massachusetts State House! 🌟

Massachusetts Oncology Patients, Survivors, and Supporters (MOPSS) are thrilled to share that House Bill 1094 (H1094) has progressed to the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing from the Joint Committee on Financial Services. The Joint Committee on Health Care Financing holds a pivotal role in reviewing and evaluating H1094. MOPSS is eager to actively engage with the committee, advocating for the bill's passage.

H1094, titled "An Act expanding coverage of dental procedures," strives to mandate insurers in Massachusetts cover medically related dental treatment. This represents a critical step in addressing the unique challenges faced by head and neck cancer survivors, who often grapple with oral health issues resulting from cancer treatments.

Thomas Healy, Founder of MOPSS, expressed enthusiasm about the bill's progress, stating, "H1094 has the potential to profoundly impact the lives of head and neck cancer survivors, ensuring they receive the necessary dental care to enhance their overall well-being."

This bill, garnering support from various quarters, aims to alleviate survivors' financial challenges stemming from the lack of insurance coverage for necessary medical related dental procedures. MOPSS has steadfastly advocated for the integration of dental care, acknowledging the intricate relationship between oral health and overall well-being, especially within the realm of medically related dental treatment.

MOPSS expresses sincere appreciation to the Joint Committee on Financial Services for backing House Bill 1094. This collaborative endeavor between advocacy groups and legislative bodies represents a notable advancement towards securing coverage for dental procedures, providing relief to survivors and enriching their quality of life.
